ARAKA advice

I like kirai, i like play army of living dead, but cannot figure out how to use properly ARAKA.

For 9 RC 2 dice, slow seem pretty hard to get something good from him.

Anyone found a good use for him?

He is movement 4, lots of hp and gets back up. Gengo can make him not slow as well if you need to run him up to the front line to join the desecrated grave units. He also offers powerful attack and good str for helping to take down enemies that are heavily debuffed but you'd need them to be pretty weakened to get that through.
I would agree that he seems expensive as you could have two kairai for the same cost but as he is a largish base he does create immediate area denial and he is very tough to just remove from the table even with only 2MS.
Overall I don't think he is tournament competitive but he causes fear and could be useful as a dangerous looking distraction or body guard for Gok /Kato. I expect he might take a points reduction in the new edition of the game so may feel more acceptable compared to other options after that.

If you've got room for one expensive Kairai, Tadao is just better in almost every way. But I've been thinking about using him, because the model is just so cool, and I figure he might fit into a Burakumin and Kairai only Death and Decay. Without the high rice cost for Kato or Gok, taking both Araka and Tadao should be possible.

Just Conspiracy up enough Ki to use Remembrance turn 2 and he should do alright. Throw Attack and a Ranged attack are neat options to have.

I think he and Gengo would work really well together in that format and taking Jirimyo's (sp) mask on the dual track barakumin cultists would give a lot of fear 5 and surprising movement. No Gok does mean a lack of rise re-rolls though which will make kairai a far less effective tar pit.
I still think Gok or Kato with 4 large swarms, the death and decay theme and 2 barakumin with the fear 5 mask would be pretty difficult to take apart. Gok is probably the better option for scenario object play in that scenario, although manekin successes could swing that in Kato's favour and if any barakumin die you can pop a kairai in its place.

I honestly couldn't tell you if it is card pack 1 or 2, I always buy the card packs together and then immediately get them mixed up upon opening as they have the same backing images.

As a thought for Risen Sun, the card packs may want to have an indicator for which pack the card belongs to so we can better help support the community with purchase advice. You'll probably want to get both eventually anyway but I'm mindful they may be soon to change with the Risen Sun rule set.
