State of the faction
In battle reports I saw Tengu were always loosing so I ask myself if except some new comers fan of the miniatures, some people could have good results with them more than one time :) The tengu section is really not up to date and it's really hard to find ressource on their gameplay and I think it's one of the faction that would greatly benefit from the older player advices given it's hard to get in.. Are there some regular tengu players around ?

As I struggled a lot the beginning with descension here my 2 cents for new comers :
I precise I'm not experimented at all ! At first games were very frustrating and I think these little advices might avoid this for new comers. here is an opened list to be completed by everyone on their experience

- If you struggle with the Suzume starter, when you face for example a high rice cost model with melee of 4 and many prowess or melee abilities think about changing your composition expand towards Tribesmen for example who have much more easy synergy to start with and have many mouvement tricks. Try Kanut as big man with some Hilltribe Warrior. Qimmiq is very nice addition with hilltribe warriors (he boosts them very nicely reducing by 1 their melee ki boost and bring excellent ki feats). And there are many other nice models. This kind of tribesmen compo will greatly improve the punch of your list and will allow you to take some Tengu for big mobility and placement trick but to be able to keep some zones or take some terrain.

- if you struggle really with a tough opponent, then try Kurama Tengu.

- Create list is really tricky when you start because you don't know nor the models nor what you need to bring. To help you roughly decompose profils in "defensive" / "offensif melee"/ "offensif range"/ "support" non exhaustive list but it might helps. For example roughly Zenkibo with push def (0) and all his abilities looks as a good defensive profil ; Kanut profil goes more likely in offensive melee, Buzenbo in offensif ranged and Naigubu in support. These are example. Then balance between offensif/ defensif and support and try the maximum of profils.

Informations might looks obvious but it may help a new comer interested in tengu.
