Am I barking up the wrong tree?

Hi guys

look I know there has been multiple threads about the Guardian (with Silverback) and his weakness/usefulness and I love the model and the fluff (I'm definitely a fluff player) and I want to keep him in the list but I just can't seem to use him properly and he dies turn 2 without fail.

For 8 points I get Riku or Seiji and a card - nice simple alternatives

Should I call time on the big fella?

He´s a tactical trap in so far that he looks like a front line fighter, but is really a support guy to bring in on someone already engaged by your real fighters. Monk softens enemy, Gorilla finishes the fight. At least that´s how I used him.

Is it worth it for the Slam/Throw attacks? If I'm charging in surely +4 damage  and go for the kill rather than Slam them for half damage and prone?

Depends on the enemy model and whether you have a slam line into more enemy models.  Oni are almost always worth slamming, as are kairai.

It always goes to tiebreakers.
