Fleafa's Warbands

Ret-Fleafa's picture

I was a backer of the Ito IndieGoGo campaign and continue to collect 100% of that faction. For a while now, I have restricted myself to fielding warbands consisting of painted miniatures only. This log will start with my efforts to date and follow my attempt to reach completion. I will, no doubt, be distracted by my small Savage Wave and Kage Kaze Zoku along the way.

So, to business:

I've had Akimoto sitting around since the IndieGoGo campaign, so finally got around to giving him a quick paintjob. Not very happy with it, to be honest, but it'll do:

He's fine buddy! Some washing/shading of the body, maybe a highlight or two, and he's done!

Nah, he's done for now. The photo has washed out his shading a little unfortunately, and I'd rather get on to finishing the vipers, Kenzo, Yuui, Tamotsu, Jade Mamba, Takeji and Masunagi!

Finished the Vipers for now. Quite a lazy paint job, to be honest; I totally wimped out on the scales. I think I can live with it as they're not the centrepiece which Yatsumata is. Only five models to go! That is until the next wave hits :)

Tamotsu. Some primer fail, giving him a little more texture than I would like, but he came out OK. The front bamboo stalk is placed to protect the crazy thin arrow. Annoying hair on the bamboo now removed.

Very cool buddy. Good idea with the bamboo too. (",)

These look great. I particularly like the Vipers. I too wanted a non-garrish, more natural scheme and this looks great!

Nicely done.  Love to play these guys as they look awesome,

where did you get the grey columns/lanterns on some of the bases and in your scenary piece?  Are they home-made?

Thanks. Home-made, but they are available from my website in my signature.

For the recent tournament, I finished up Yuui Ito:

…and Kenzo Ito:

Not very happy with Kenzo, and the photo isn’t great, but he’s finally finished about 3.5 years after release.
