Introduce yourself

This topic is where you can say 'hi' to the Bushido community.

So feel free to introduce yourself, and let us know where you play or live (so others can join you or arrange a game or two), which faction you are currently playing or intend on starting, etc.

My name is Arjan, I'm from Harderwijk The Netherlands, I bought the Cult of Yurei and the Temple of Ro-Kan starter sets and probably end op playing the Cult as my girlfriend thinks Master Ekusa and his turtle are.... 'cute' (women sheesh).

Hi I'm Joel. I'm a South African in Melbourne Australia. I've been playing wargames for a decade and also play Infinity, Warmachine and Hordes.

I'm picking up the Temple of Ro-Kan as my good guys and Savage Wave as my bad guys because I like their models, art, fluff and rules the most, although everything else is very cool too. I do want ninjas at some stage though <nudge nudge wink wink>

Expect to see a lot of me if I can get some interest in this game where I play, because I tend to post a LOT. :P

Craig from New Zealand. Big malifaux fan with about 100 painted models. was thinking I had enough Malifaux to get onto painting my 150 model French napoleonic army then along comes Bushido surprise.

I will be starting with Temple of Ro-Kan and the Prefecture.

Hello, my name is Denis and I'm a table-top-aholic.

I'm in Long Island, New York.  I hang at Brothers Grim - one of, if not the, largest game stores in the Northeast, US. Love skirmish games the most and right now I'm heavily into Malifaux - I'm actually a Henchman for that game (like GW Outrider or PP Pressganger).  Malifaux uses an ingenious card-system - no dice at all which I really love, but sometimes I miss throwing some dice around and I like how Bushido is doing that.

Pretty sure I'm gonna Monk-ey around (see what I did there) but I like the Samurai also.

Glad to be here.

Some days it's just not worth chewing through the restraints.

No sorry. Never really got around to taking pics. My regular gaming mate has a good blog up with most of his malifaux models (he has probably 120+) and if you look carefully on his home page (down near the bottom) you will see my Kirai crew in one of the battle reports. http://minersandsteamfittersunion.blogspot.com/

Hey Im steve. I have gamer add and put it to good use writing for Handcannon ( handcannononline.com). I play for fun and only play with models i think are cool. I picked up the Savage wave and Temple of Ro Kan ( turtle = yesssss). More of a painter than a gamer but i do always get to urge to play with my shiny new toys. I Hench for wyrd and play malifaux ( only kirai now), hordes/warmachine ( gators and mercs), and have remants of many painted GW armies, though with the advent of Battleground: fantasy warfare, and Kings of War im sure those armies will never see the light of day again ( :(  ). Im also a closet heroclix and monpoc player but thats my dirty little secret. I realy look forward to these models :) i absolutly LOVE painting asian themed models. There are not nearly enough of them.

Hi All

My name is Alasdair, from South Africa. I am currently residing in Cape Town and play 40k and dabble in Warmachine. I will definitely be playing Bushido over the years to come, and will more than likely be involved with the Cult and the Prefecture....hang on...maybe...all of them?

I am responsible for the short stories etc and will be helping the Studio in terms of background and general world domination. Thanks Hayabuso for turning my work into an audio piece. Really appreciate it, i have so many stories coming up with hints, allegations and teasers of what is to come, that you are going to have read between the lines, so to speak...

I can only hope that you all enjoy my work and that it adds a little bit of mystery and intrigue into your days! May your dice be kind!

Duck21 I used to live in london and know Leisure game  store like the back of my hand. use to buy all my paints and games stuff  from them...   We were fans still are fan of the now gone C3  we even use to go to tournaments and event host some . I still have hundreds of models  for that system... As for Heldorado  We  played a lot on the first year or two 1634 french rules and we did enjoy it  a lot . I think  i could  say to some extent  the fate of those two games helped the GCT crew to have a go at creating bushido.

Xavier from Barcelona, Spain.

I'm an Infinity and Anima Tactics player. I gave up with GW thanks to Infinity about five years ago and since then I've become very fond of skirmish games, to the point I don't want to play army sized wargames anymore.

I'm yet on the fence about jumping into this game so I'll wait and watch how it turns out to be. Sculpts are the main reason, I've been waiting for a company to come up with a L5R like game with high quality samurai sculpts and Bushido seems to aim towards the right direction. Current miniatures are Ok but here's hoping they've to improve better yet. Regarding the rules, it's the combat system what caught my interest in the game.

At moment I'm leaning towards the prefecture as I'm interested in armored samurais, well trained ashigarus, ninjas and ronins instead of onis and undeads. Here's hoping for a ninja faction/clan to appear somewhere in the future too.

Ok, being respectful with the other forum menbers that's my last non english public post.

Cheers to everyone.

Also, I'm glad you've chosen the Prefecture, I too was intrigued by them, though when I get some income I'll probably be purchasing all the starters for demo'ing purposes of course. =)

Hey all

Good to be here, just thought I'd say hello. Going to be getting into this as I have been looking for a fantasy skirmish game for a while now, and I haven't played fantasy samurai since Clan War died out.

Some nice looking miniatures that will hopefully only get better and from what I've seen of the rules they look good.

Now just need to wait for my ninja shopper to return from Games Expo with my starter set and the starters of the two other gamers who I managed to persuade to play.

Thought I'd better pop in and say "hello" on the official thread. I sought out Bushido at the UK Games Expo at the weekend after I got chatting to one of the chaps from Earlswood Gamers (they were running a large gaming table upstairs at the Expo) about Malifaux, and he suggested checking out your stand.

We've recently started a gaming club in Redditch (just south of Birmingham) and there seemed to be some interest when I took my Ryu and Ro-Kan starter sets along last night, so hopefully we can get some games going.

cheers

Well as you can see from my username my name is Alex.

I love all things ancient Japan!

As such when I saw the game at the UK Games Expo I immediatley fell in love, so much so that I bought all four starters. I'm not sure which I'm going to get paint on first but I have colour schemes in mind for all of the factions.

I live in Knutsford, Cheshire and play most of my games at a local gaming club, who will soon be exposed to Bushido.

@Meggypeggs - Where abouts in Warrington are you? We need to meet up and have a game!

Hey guys, I'm Tim. I'm from Long Island New York and spend most of my hobby hours at Brothers Grim Games. I'm also a Malifaux guy, who is slowly getting tired of the GW nonsense, almost to the point where I've considered no longer playing their systems. Dgraz turned me on to the system, as it is another skirmish game which we both seem to be really enjoying. People who know me, know that I tend to lean towards the fun/shennanigans filled armies/factions...which is why the Savage Wave has caught my attention. The Bakemono remind me of the Gremlins (which is my primary faction) in Malifaux. The game seems really interesting and I've been looking for a Japanese/Asian fantasy setting for a while. Ok, done rambling.

Am upset I didn't find it last week, to take advantage of the pre-release special :(
