Introduce yourself

Studio's picture

This topic is where you can say 'hi' to the Bushido community.

So feel free to introduce yourself, and let us know where you play or live (so others can join you or arrange a game or two), which faction you are currently playing or intend on starting, etc.

Hi Matt and welcome to the forums.

Nice to have you and as you've mentioned, this is by far the nicest community I've been around so far.

Have fun with the Temple and good luck at the tournament.

Cheers,

Leo

Hi all, Marty here.

I've read alot during this holiday of the game, ordered book and Ito + Yurei starters. So now on with some painting and playtesting.

Btw. I'm from sweden and played tabletop since I was teen. How long that is depends how old I am now ;)

just love the suspense for my first playtest. I have very high hopes for this game. Love skirmish and this seems perfect in amount of models and table size.

Have a good summer all.

Hi everyone. My name is JJ and I just picked up a few starter sets to play with my cousin.

I live in SW London (Battersea) and moved here from Brisbane in March. Prior to that I was over in Perth, long time ago now though!

Been playing miniature wargames for over 20 years now and still loving it.

Shoot me a message if you are keen for a game!

Halloj Marty! Welcome to a great game. Which town are you based in? There's Bushido going on in quite some places in Sweden. I'm with a growing group in Gothenburg :-)

Hello all, I'm Saynt from Pennsylvania. The only other miniatures game I've ever gotten involved in was Confrontation, I loved painting those beautiful miniatures. I've always loved Historica/Fantasy Asia and I've been watching these miniatures for a while waffling back and forth and finally decided to take the plunge with the Ito and Temple starter sets. I'm excited to get them and get playing!

Hi Saynt, welcome to a great game :-) We are many Confrontation refugees here and in fact GCT originated from the designers desire to continue it's great legacy. Something they accomplished and more imo!

Wonderful! I must say the rules do look comfortingly similar! I can't wait for my starters to arrive so I can start painting!

Hello, Magnus here, aka Ted.

Discovered the game a few months back but jumped all in at GenCon, was incredibly impressed firstly by the niceness of all the staff of GCT, Greg and all the folks enjoying the game. Needless to say we walked away with several starters, cards, extra minis and the rules. My Ito and Temple forces are already assembled and awaiting paint.

Hoping to find (or grow) new players in south a Texas (San Antonio). We have a small base of 3 already and probably converted a fourth today.

Hey Ted!  Thanks for coming out and supporting Bushido at Gen Con!  We're certainly one of the smaller tabletop games that gets played at Gen Con (for now), but we are growing!  Hope to see you there in 2015, and good luck growing interest in your area.

Hi everyone

New to the forum so thought i would pop by and introduce myself.Had my first demo of the game a few days ago and thoroughly enjoyed it.  Im looking to start with the Ito Clan. Im really new to TTG with only 1 year or so experience under my belt.

I live in Aberdeen Scotland and looking for fellow players in aberdeen and surrounding areas.

quick question if i may: ive looked at the player finder but cannot find a way of contacting the people on the list other than trawling the ENTIRE forum hoping they have made a post so i can message them. I really hope im doing something wrong.

anyway looking forward to getting started and hopefully meet some of you guys at Smogcon 2015

Hey guys, my name is Colin and I'm from Scotland, but currently reside in Kagoshima, Japan. I loved the look of this game since I first saw the minis and have decided to start with Prefecture and Ito (my wife loved the 'snake guys'). I've painted minis for years, starting with 40k but more recently have been painting/playing War machine and Hordes.

I can't wait to get started with this and have already backed Rise of the Kage at Red Alert because I have every faith in GCT to deliver a top quality product!

Great stuff guys, excited to be here!

Hey all

My names Martin from Cambridge, England. Myself and three others picked up Bushido at Salute 2014, starters and extras, after some great demo games. We have only just got around to getting everything together but we are loving it so far.

I have been lurking on the forums for a while and the work that people show on here is truly inspirational. Hopefully be able to get some shots of our warbands and boards up over the coming weeks.

Right, now i need to go undercoat Waku and find my pin vice!

You used to be able to click on the individual dot things on the Player Locator and send them a message on the forum. I've just tried this to check it and it doesn't seem to be working anymore.

Hello, I am Paul from Gladstone, Australia. Love the look of Bushido and I am a supporter of Rise of the Kage. I have been gaming for 35 years and have played Japanese type armies in many systems and own both a 15mm and 28mm historical Japanese armies and a Mishima Warzone army.

Hi

I am Ragnar from Sweden Gothenburg. My friend Löwe introduced me into this game and i reasently got thought reading the rules. I haven´t got any Bushido-figures yet but i am thinking of Cult og Yurei with "Rat-Theme" and later The Shadow wind clan cause i have had a thing for ninjas since i was a kid. I have played Bloodbow, Flames of war and the old Warzone but i am orginally a RPG-player and have been busy with RPG-games for 31 years now. I like sushi, japaneese swords and the japaneese culture ;-)

Hi I'm Mooseking (also known as Joe) and I live in Plymouth UK - been lurking and reading about the factions and am thoroughly sold tbh. Gonna get a Prefecture of Ryu starter and a few extra bods.

I love creating terrain (40k etc) and love the Japenese theme, so I think this is gonna be awesome... My wallet is crying!

Welcome to Jwar Isles!

I hope you enjoy with Prefecture, time ago was a very powerful faction, and right now is maybe the weakest IMO, but with the next wave and the Ancestral Spirit all may change. ^^

Hey folks, I'm back! I came on here a year or two ago with the intention of starting the game, but between family and other games it just couldn't be done - and i nearly gave up  on my dream of conquering the J'war Isles.

Now  i  finally have a couple of starters  (PoR and IC) and the ND Rulebook to see if i  can get others at my club into  it. And when i ordered my stuff another guy got the Savage Wave starter! Sweet!

So hopefully i'll have more of a presence here now than i have before and i look forward to meeting everyone... again lol.

ps. If there are any double key presses or keystrokes missing its this bloody keyboard on the laptop. If i miss anything in the proof read i apologise - i  know it can be distracting to read but its not my fault lol.

I'm one of FKBs local friends, here in the Triangle area of NC USA (Raleigh, Durham, Chaple Hill and other named places inbetween).

Have only played a single demo starter with FKB, fielded Prefecture v. his Ito. I'm coming from a LONG minis hobby career (ca 1997 w 40k), and an even LOONNNGGGERRRR RPG career (1981, Basic red box D&D). My gateway into Bushido was supporting Rise of Kage KS, although I distinctly recall when Itsunagi was revealed across the blogosphere as a next release, I silently said to myself "I bet I'll play that someday..."

Have some Ito stuff on the way because of Itsunagi - there are few miniatures out there in the world that so eloquently capture "BadAssery in 3D form" than that mini. Waiting to see what all I get with Kage (and the Bushido cards add on) and will then flesh out some Shadow and Prefecture.

There's a vibrant Bushido group in Durham NC at Atomic Empire I can plug into (who are currently deep into a Map based campaign).

Plus I plan to use all these minis with my son to play Iron Dynasty (Savage Worlds system RPG with a Feudal Japan Steampunk theme).

Glad to be here. Looking forward to good times!

Hello fellow gamers.

Hobbyist for around 30 years, mainly GW stuff and various RPG's. A year or so ago a sense of apathy was creeping in so my gaming buddy and I started looking beyond 40k and took up Infinity. We looked at Bushido but with the Kage kickstarter immenent opted to get that instead. The plan being to expand RoK into Bushido. However the more I read about Bushido the more intruiged I became. Then Guildball hit retail, and dived in head first, further delaying Bushido.

A month ago my will failed and picked up New Dawn book and Temple of Ro-Kan starter and had my first 4 games in tyhe past two weeks. Have to say "What took me so long" . Awesome game, beautiful mini's and so many ideas from so little game play.  Aiko and the Guardian and Hotaru have joined my starter box but yet to use them. Hotaru has to be one of my all-time favourite miniature, the dynamism and simple detail work perfectly for me and she has replaced Yumi in my force for good. I play for fun and feel of a narative so will often build forces on what mini's looks good to me over stats and rules.

Made a start painting but an unhealthy Destiny obsession on the PS4 means nothing is finished yet but will get some pics up soon-ish.....

Look forward to more games, sharing with and learning from the community here.

Cheers, Tam

Hi, all. Walt here (but use the nick "frogimus" on many gaming sites). I live in Kentucky, about 30 miles from Mammoth Cave.

I had a comment on my blog a few days ago from steinbergshedspace that said "If you want exquisite lead try the Bushido range sometime...". So, here I am - looking for exquisite lead.

As far as I know, I'm the only miniatures painter in the immediate area so I tend to pick up 3 or 4 factions to paint up for my friends and family to play. Currently painting and/or playing Infinity and Anima Tactics. I'm getting some models from Cult and Ito. Not sure which will be the 3rd, yet.

And I only paint pewter, so once a game makes the move to resin or plastic it gets boxed up and put away.

Hi all, while I have already posted a topic on general introducing myself I had not realised this topic was here (call me mr. observant).

Have been looking to get back into tabletop gaming for some time and have only played GW licensed games in the past, much to my regret. Am looking to start up soon and am located in Leeds, UK so hopefully can meet some fellow gamers soon.

Will be looking to build an Ito Clan list so will be plenty of pics later on, other then that am glad to be here and look forward to playing a most excellent game :)

Hi everyone,

Joost here. Mostly using the nickname thewoodcutter (from you can guess which movie... wink) on several fora.

I live in the Eastern part of the Netherlands, quite near the German border. I'm a member of a local miniatures game club in Nijmegen. We've just got two players here for this lovely game, but I'm aware of a group in Rotterdam. Be interested to see if there are more in the Netherlands or closer than Rotterdam.

I've bought from the lovely chaps from GCT studios three times in person, two times at Salute (2012 and 2015) and just a couple of days ago at Spiel in Essen (for the guys from GCT studios: I was the one bringing the owl cake along: did you enjoy it? I'd love to see those pictures, forgot to take them myself... blush, although I can easily bake another one...)

Got three factions for Bushido lined up and started painting clan Ito first, but will probably be finishing Tengu Descension first... Got to get my eastern miniatures fix after Anima Tactics got suspended.

Ah well that's it for now.

By thewoodcutter --

Commoner: No one will hear you, no matter how loud you shout. Just think. Which one of these stories do you believe?
Woodcutter: None makes any sense.
Commoner: Don't worry about it. It isn't as if men were reasonable.

Hi all,

I have been lurking for a couple of weeks here, and decided to join a local slow-grow league (Perth, Australia).

Been playing Warmahordes and Infinity, and super excited with Bushido after reading the rules (seems easy and complicated at the same time).

I have picked up Ito Clan starter and a few items (Kenzo, Naiko, cards). Don't have a game yet, hopefully soon in the next 2-3 weeks since a lot of people are busy or waiting for their stuff to get painted.

Does anyone know if there is a map where you can better locate players?
