Just wondering how the stretched canvas boards are holding up for the Our House Guys.  Left two with them to abuse in preperation for Adepticon and Gencon events in 2014. 

Aaron, Welcome, i haven't had an opportunity to listen yet, but it is in my podcatcher for when time frees up again.

Another Bushido-newcomer here.

My name's Brad from Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Well I live here nowadays anyway.

I started wargaming when I was 14 and ever since my favorite realms are historical and fantasy. I do play sci-fi and other random stuff but my heart really lies with the former two.
I also play card games and it was through L5R that I got into contact with two guys who just discovered Bushido. Since we all dig Oriental-fantasy based games I decided to check it out and quickly got hooked.
Most of my friends are heavily into Japanese culture whereas I am more into Han-Chinese. We can all appreciate the Oriental-fantasy genre as it's the best of everything really.

My first starter was Ito because I refused to fall for the trap of playing dead things(aka The Cult). I'm kind of known for my attraction to undead things(okay that came out wrong LOL) so I decided to do the next best thing. Snakes!
However as another guy in our group already played Ito I decided to give in and "take up the Cult as my second group". Now, two-three weeks later, guess which is now my biggest collection? *sighs*
My last purchases were Mo Isis and the giant rat swarm to use in combination with Nezumi and his furry pals. I also bought the giant cave bat not too long ago and use it as a proxy for Gok. Why? Well check out my username, I'm crazy for bats and carry my nickname proudly.
I will one day buy the Gok model though, probably for tounament purposes as not to confuse people but right now my flapping pal does the trick (and I can make bonus squeeky sounds).

I'm amazed at some of the sculpts in this game and cannot wait what is in store for all of us. I love how fast it plays(once you get to know all the traits and special attacks/defences) and the fact you could even play it on a small tea-table.
It's such a refreshing way to play after huge armies that need two carry cases and skirmish games that need so many tokens you'd better buy another table just to hold them.

I'm currently trying to get some much-needed time in to paint!

Welcome guys, glad you've found and are enjoying the game. Make sure to add yourselves to the player locator. Are either of you coming to SmogCon? three days of 24hr gaming :) 

There is stuff all weekend and a one day pass just for Sunday.

Same here, darn work and travel. 
I will definitely be on the lookout next year when my schedule and finances are more relaxed. Three days of gaming sounds like paradise.

Let us know how your first games go and if you have any questions feel free to ask them. You will find the Bushido community to be one of the friendliest around.

As a tip, try to give you and your opponent a "demo game" the first time around.

Use about three models per side (or round about 25 points) so you don't have to memorize all the Traits/Feats and Specials in your first go.

Howdy all. Posted a couple of times elsewhere on the site before noticing this thread, so i figure i better introduce myself as i have a funny feeling i'm around to stay. (",)

I'm Dale and i'm from the FAR north of Scotland (the nearest place to me you've prob heard of is John O'Groats or Dounreay, about 120 miles north of Inverness). I'm the Master Interrogator (chaplain) in my 40k clan and anyone who knows me will tell you i'm verbose to say the least - so don't expect many small posts from me! (",)

Been playing 40k for about a year now and, though i love the fluff and stuff, having to spend £30 on a box of mannies that are all the same, needing to buy 2 (sometimes 3) of these boxes for a single unit, needing 50+ models to play a game that you need to set aside an entire day to play, have all contributed to my waning enthusiasm. Was thinking about moving onto WHF before as my Dark Angels were nearing completion but then all these aforementioned seeds of doubt crept in and i thought "if i don't want to live on the street then i need to get rid of GW from my life".

I can't remember if i was looking for a skirmish game first or something with an Eastern flavour (i've always loved Japanese culture and even began teaching myself the language a short time ago) but i stumbled onto "Ronin" by Osprey: an interesting game i'm still eager to try - and quite cheap. From there i found this and i've found something positive in pretty much every facet of the product.

Which faction/s shall i play? Let's not kid ourselves, we know we're going to own every single model at some point (",). But to begin with i think i'm going to start with PoR to learn the game and i'll use my second starter set as my "army proper". Prob something needing a bit more finesse/tactics to master like CoY, IC, or even ToR-K (monks are cool). SS will be one of the best/strongest by the sounds of things once they get more models, but i'll be leaving the SW until last i think. I think they're one of the coolest factions and the ultimate bad-guys with cool models - but they seem to be the most difficult to play, if not the most difficult to paint.

Now that you all know me i promise that's the longest post any of you will ever be subjected to by me. I'm somewhat of an insomniac, so i apologise for the time of night/morning of my posts, and please forgive my abuse of this space with rambling - i promise i'll be good if you just let me stay, and i don't eat much and i'll never let it happen again. (",)

And fill in your adress in your profile - that'll make you show up on the map*.

* But don't just put Leiden, be a little more specific. Otherwise it'll put you in a standard point for Leiden, and if there are more than one of you there only one will be visible.
If you don't want to put down your adress, put down your favourite sushi place.

I choose Bushido for the high quality and nice desing of their miniatures...and then...because the game remember me another great one (Confrontation) but in a lovely Asian inspiration.

Steven knowles here, armed with an exploring hat and boundless optimism from northwest England, trying to rediscover my feet in miniature collecting/gaming, so to speak.

Alexsmith got me to play a few games as a way to help him practice for Smogcon, and have to say I looked at the models again and realized they're actually flipping superb sculpts, and the game itself is the right size for me to mentally digest (which personally became a big problem with Warmachine/Hordes as that game has grown).

In spite of only having 3 games in total, didn't stop either of us from attending a tournament today with some Cult borrowed off the very same Alex, and I picked up almost all the Silvermoon trade syndicate range while I was at it. If I go into something, it's generally with both feet, soooo yeah

I'm ashamed I haven't seen this post before -_-.
So, I'm french, live near Paris and 25. I do a lot of stuff besides minis but still that's one of my favorites ;)

I mostly enjoy painting, never really gotten into playing for lack of players / nice rules / time / motivation. I have been offered a savage wave starter pack and I'm currently enjoying painting the little gremlins :D

3 starter sets at once! That's a lot of keen you have there good sir, welcome to the forums:)

Between the two, I would recommend the STS starter over the Prefecture for doing demos vs. Temple.  I've always found Temple vs. Prefecture (using the starters only) leans very heavily in favor of Prefecture.  STS vs. Temple gives a bit better balance in my opinion.
