If that's an awful photo, I'd love to see it in person.  I love it!

So dynamic! Very very nice.
No issue to fix it? This foot seems so fragile.

I just noticed that the sashimono is missing one of the wood pieces (the top one?) the black paint of the studio version hids it.

That's still a bad hat Harry.

I had chance to play against these bad boys last weekend and can only say that they look even better in the flesh!

Can't wait to see what else you pull out of your hat for Smogcon.

Dice cups are the new O.P.

Kabocha, these look amazing. Thank you for the tutorial on your bases.

The Kanji on the sides of your bases are "left" and "right," correct? What does the center character represent?

Thanks.

It's the kanji for eye.

And btw I have to agree with the people before me the minis just look great. Can't wait to see more smiley

(By the way is there any logic behind using 目(me) to mark the front arc instead of  just (mae)?)

Ayako as an albino python. She's had her hair and head dress retouched a bit since the photo.

...and Masunagi, who I thought would be a pain to paint, but turned out to be one of the easiest Ito minis to do. After not being a fan of the sculpt, painting him has really changed my opinion.

Great job! I especially like Masunagi the whole personality of the figure comes through. The armor plates and the mask just look incredible the color you choose for them fits well.

Also a friend of mine doesn't like Masunagi too, he finds him too dwarf like. I for one don't mind his strange proportions.

I took a break from paintng NMM scale and banded armour with the Kitsune this weekend. The colour scheme is stolen from one of the Kitsune in the Muramasa video game and the magnolia flower print on the kimono is taken frm a calendar of Japanese fabric prints my wife picked up last time she went home.

Great magnolia flower! I'll keep the picture for reference.

Dono i'm not fan of the skin. Not enought constrast, even if due to the color schem and not the paint job!

It's not too hard: use a good smooth primer and a wet pallet, thin your paints and use lots of thin layers, blending by transparency...and practice wink

Nothing but awesome in this thread. Love the palette, smooth skin-colors and the way my jaw drops on the floor when seeing this. Truly an inspiration!

Not wanting to step on anyone's toes but I just wanted to report that KABOCHA won big at Smogcon!

His Kitsune won gold in the Bushido single figure category and Itsunagi, Kenzo and Masunagi (I think they were the three at least) won both the Bushido war band category and the overall best in show award!

I take my hat off and consider my self blessed to have been in the company of this god among men!

The thing that is really impressive about his winning the "best in show" title is that his entry was made up of figures that he left out of the list he picked for the event.  They were not chosen as his best work . . .

They could have judged the list he played with and come to the same result.

The Gaki may just be the single greatest creation of Master T.

Rise from your grave!

After getting back from SmogCon and reading the Ito tactics threads I knocked out Takeji Ito a couple of weeks ago before working on something else for a change of pace/scenery. His pose makes it really difficult to get good photos and the texture on the sword handles wasn't great. Still, table top will do.

Long time no post here because the GCT chaps have been keeping me busy with doing their studioi paintjobs. Until I get back to my own Ito (and an in-progress gaming board) I'll be adding studio paintjobs here once they've been posted in the GCT blog/newsletter. First up is (super-buff) Yusha - which was a pleasure to paint. photo 2014-04-01103646_zpsbd68db4f.jpg

No wonder why you were asked to paint those miniatures.
They're wonderful. Truly lovely! Excellent paintjob, nothing to say...
