Looking at Saki makes me think you could do a silly/smutty scene using the spare hand on the end of a stick

Its hard to argue with GTCs choice. They all look very nice. I had to go back and have a look at the concept art for the wave 19 perfecture samurai however. I was under the impression that Ruys colour was blue and yellow so the red confused me a bit

Just a piece of rusty metal (slate will do just as well), Vallejo pumice paste painted with Chardon Granite, Calthan brown and Kemri Earth, Noch grass tufts and some earthy coloured MIG pigments. C'est facile n'est pas?

blush In that case VMC London Grey, shaded with VMC deep sea green and Oxford blue and highlighted by adding in VMC sky grey then silver grey.

Great work as usual!
Two observations:
I would give some colors to your bamboo. On mine i just gave a spray of brown-yellow on the botom of the leaves and on the tree, and a spray of dark green on the top. It avoids the plastic effect
I would go for a sligth powdering of brown at the base of the tiles, to mark the dust accumulation

Gorinto is very nice. What have you used to cast the top parts? А furniture handle?

I'm a bit lazt when it comes to making scenery, the gorinto comes from here:

http://mastercrafted.co.uk/ and is available in large (approx 40mm tall) and small (20mm ish) sizes - I've got a bunch more for a monument/graveyard.

The wall is laser-cut MDF from here:http://www.lostvillageterrain.co.uk/ although the store is a bit out of date. You can contact Rob (chimpenstein on the forum) about these. I just tarted them up a bit with Vallejo texture pastes and scatter.

Where to get such bamboo plants? Model train architecture?

Here's where I got mine from: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/100-Model-Bamboo-Trees-Garden-Park-Buliding-Architecture-Landscape-Layout-1-75-/201046215522?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item2ecf49cb62

I was a bit doubtful about them, but at that price I thought "why not give them a try".

They ended up being cheap, fast and reasonable quality. There tends to be a lot of thin flash on some of the stalks that can be trimmed off with a sharp scalpel, but they're more than adequate for large areas of bamboo forest on a board.

Seen this in our Bay too. Postfree from China for this price, hm. I may try. And hope its not sticking in the customs.

Kabocha: If its you that did the newest temple model I have a question. Do they come with a scenic base? Is the net part of the model or string/GS that you added? thanks in advance if you know the answer and its not a secret on gcs part.

Im ofc referring to the twin yokai fishermen riding piggyback with long limbs whose name escape me atm

Ashinaga Tenaga is not one of mine I'm afraid, Hanami is though, I'll put pics up tonight/tomorrow.

I asked Gordon about the net, apparently it's part of the mini.

Several angles of the latest studio paintjob, Hanami, are below. The more I paint of the SMTS, the more I get tempted to start playing them. If anyone is feeling creative when they get their version, I'd love to see what freehand designs get painted onto the back of her fan.

Wow Kabocha, that is yet another lovely paint job!

Thanks for the extra shots from different angles, they really help to give a better feel for the model. I'm somewhat tempted to try sculpting a veil for her when I pick her up though, just so that she can try not to out herself as Oyabun.

Cheers,

Woo.

It must be the big hair and bad tatts cheeky

Anyway, back to the backlog of Ito minis before the next comission with a quick Kazuhiko knocked out over the weekend. He's feeling a bit off-colour after too many snakebites

The board and scenery building onslaught has begun. First up is 6 hokora (shinto roadside shrines) for use as objectives. These are based on mini shrines that LostVillage terrain makes, but chopped up and altered with plasticard, milliput, balsa, solder wire and bits from my bits box.

A week of annual leave has meant I've been able to start and finish my board and the first batch of terrain, more will get added in dribs and drabs to keep things fresh.

I don't think so, but I'll take them anyway (probably the board and scenery too).

After being on the receiving end of 2 different lists featuring the "Command" trait I thought I'd better try a piece of the action with Satoshi devil

You mean 'first strike' or model positioning?

not sure about Hitoshi foot on invisible rock pose. I'm not sure his sensei would approve of that form for a strike?

ps i know it goes without saying but being contrary I will say it; these are lovely stuff
