The "Old Men" of the Syndicate

These fellas above are one of the reasons I love Bushido and specifically Silvermoon. Not just the miniatures or even the specific rules for these guys alone, but more generally the way that support characters in a faction can play such a huge role. Guys like Harukichi, Old Zo and Oda set a thematic tone, but frequently also set the playstyle for a whole warband.

Anyway, it's a bit too long to post in its entirety here, but I wrote some words about my love for the "old men" of the Syndicate here: http://misterpowellminis.com/blog/old-mans-warband - I hope you enjoy!

Nicely painted miniatures :)

I love the coins you painted on the front of the bases, done with shading and highlights making them more dynamic and they seem like they might be a bit tricky for normaly mini painters to do :)

Great painting and good insights on the Old men. Love the moniker :)

Thanks for all the kind works :)

etchr - I had fun with the coins on the bases as markings. I'm not usually a big fan of base markings, preferring simpler/cleaner bases, but they're pretty crucial in Bushido, so I bowed to necessity. For my Tengu I used a feather (ie. my Tarobo). They're honestly not as hard to paint as you might guess... certainly a lot easier than some of the amazing kanji base markings I've seen around here!
