"Ki Mirror" feat (Kami of Reflection)

Ki Mirror [range = 6" Pulse]:

When a non-Soulless model within 6" becomes the Target of a Ki Feat you may choose a new, valid Target for the Ki Feat, ignoring the feat's Range.

1/ Can we redirect a friendly Ki Feat (let's say, a supporting Ki Feat like Kanut's "Inspiration")? I'm guessing yes, that's part of the designers intent.

2/ The initial target has to be in the pulse, OK. Does it also apply to the new target? Also guessing yes, but needing confirmation.

3/ Does the new target have to be in LoS of the initial "caster" and/or on the LoS of the Kami of Reflection? The redirection ignore range, but the new target must still be "valid", and regardless of range, shouldn't a valid target be a target in LoS of the model performing the initial feat? Does "valid" refers to the initial caster LoS, or is the Kami of Reflection considered the new caster LoS-wise?

4/ Healing Touch [range = BtB]: Target Friendly model in BtB Heals X wounds.

Can Ki Mirror redirect Ryuhobo's Healing Touch to another friendly model. I don't know, because despite the range being ignored by Ki Mirror, the BtB condition in also stated in the description of the feat's effect.

If "yes", Ryuhobo could "fake-heal" himself (even if he's full-life), and the Kami of Reflection could redirect the healing to a far ally.

1- yes, there is nothing that prevents it.
2-yes, its target has to be in range of the ki mirror
3-not fully sure about this one, but would say that it needs LoS if the original ki feat needed LoS, it ignores range, but not LoS
4-BtB is the feats range, so mirror should ignore it. So yes, you can heal at distance at the cost of 1ki

  1. Yes. There are surprisingly few Friendly Target Ki Feats in factions with access to this Kami though.
  2. Initial Target, yes. New Target, no. It explicitly states this.
  3. LoS required as it is a part of Targeting. Kami is not new origin.
  4. Actually, good question, though the description is just restating the range, in my opinion. I have used Ryuhobo in this way. Gets funny with Baichi.

1. We all agree.

2. We don't, apparently. :P I'm really not sure. Yes Ki Mirror ignores range, but it's referring to the original feat range; there is still the range of Ki Mirror itself. So, is the designers intent to redirect only on the pulse radius? If not, Ki Mirror can potentially redirect feats to anywhere on the table... does that sounds fair?

3. "it ignores range, but not LoS", "LoS required as it is a part of Targeting" : two valid points, so by the book, a LoS seems needed. A main question remains: should the new target be in the original caster LoS or in the Kami of Reflection Los? And other blurry questions : does Ki Mirror cancels the first targeting and actually "targets" a new model (if yes, I guess the target should be on the Kami LoS)? From the text it "chooses a new target" ...is that technically targeting? If no, Ki Mirror is not targeting, just modifying the targeting of the initial feat, and then the new target should be in the initial caster LoS...

4. If the BtB part of the effect description is really just "restating the range", then it should work. Distant healing at the cost of 1Ki sounds a fair trick to me.

Anyway I really hope some official answers on this one.

2- not sure if i was clear enough (english not my mother language). The new target has to be in the mirrors pulse but needs not to be in the originals cadter range.

2. Ki Mirror's Range applies only to the original Target. If the original caster has Aware, you can pick a new Target almost anywhere on the board!
3. Original caster remains the caster. Use their LoS; they are still doing the Targeting.
4. Yes, it is good, but you are 'wounding' a model. It is like 4 Rice Event card, in a way.

All right. After all, that's the most straightforward and clear way to apply the feat's text.

Only thing that saddens me : if the initial feat allows a walk, the enemy caster can change his facing before the feat, limiting the number of valid targets in his LoS, and making Ki Mirror useless.
