Official 4Ground Bushido Terrain

When I found out that GCT was getting offical terrian for Jwar islands I was super excited. 4Ground buildings looked beautiful and the prototype pics all look beautiful and detailed (even with working doors and full interior!). I picked up the full set at GenCon, and was very eager to have some awesome officalially produced terrian.

Well, now that I have a half built Dwelling I can very honestly say DON'T BUY THIS. The product is terrible as a model kit. The material is very high quality, and the style and design of the building is stunning, but as a building kit it is total junk. The instructions are next to useless, often not showing where peices should be placed or not giving a number of what peice to use on certain steps, and the wooden sprews(?) even have several peices being not labeled at all.

Right now I'm currently stuck because I have a structual peice missing, and a full wall that doesn't fit. And you are probably wondering, "Why are you telling us? Why not contact 4Ground, since they made it?" Well I actually did, multiple times. I have left negative reviews on the products I bought expressing my problems (they were blocked from being shown) and I emailed the company directly over a week ago (with no response of any kind).

This is an officially lisenced GCT product, and it's trash. It has the GCT logo on the box. Don't be fooled by the pretty pictures and high quality wood. The kit is trash, don't waste your time and frusteration on this.

Sorry you feel this way, one of our new Retainers Ret-jlopatin has a description on his blog of how to assemble and may be able to help you salvage your own kit.

I can't say how hard it's to get it done right but I've been playing at a friend's place with this Houses on the battlefield they look really good.

It's kind of sad that you can't get answer from 4ground, let's hope they wake up.

Had no trouble assembling it, though I admit it requires to be a little bit focused and patient, and make sure you have a fitting part before gluing it.

Found the manual quite helpful too, maybe you can ask somebody else to do it for you if you're not confident with the modelling side of the hobby?

As yes as whogshrog said, they look really nice, it's almost the best quality kit I've ever seen, the only drawnback right  imho, is that you only get to chose between the cart and rural houses. Hope more will come soon.

I've put several 4ground kits together (not these) and don't remember having any problems. I wouldn't say they're for beginners though, I do remember thinking that.

I would recommend looking at a company called TTCOMBAT.  They have a very nice eastern empire selection that is growing all the time.

To those questioning the validity of my problems with this kit, or suggesting that I am innept at building and should have someone else make it for me: I have PICTURES showing that there are multiple peices that do not fit together, that leave large gaps, and/or jutt out over the space they are supposed to occupy.

And I can also show more pictures of how the manual is not helpful and lacks any concise direction, if that would also help...

Well, they had to ask.

Have you had issues with any of the other kits?

Yep seing your pictures, I remember now having to cut some parts with a cutter, and bending a bit some part of the last layer to have it fit.

We can agree that some bits were not perfect fit, but after assembling some knight models minis, you're used to having to tweak things, from a little bit to a lot :)

I remember having to almost rescult and green stuff part of the shirt of my Hulk...

And it's true that previous 4ground kits I assembled actually were perfect fit.

that's why you need to not to bother yourself with a few millimeters not going your way. just cut it through

In the end they're still worth the effort :)

I wasn't questioning your modelling skills, I was just saying I remember thinking the kits weren't for beginners. I have a couple different companies' terrain and still think 4ground looks the best.

Question regarding the Bushido kits, did they just relabel their Asian line as Bushido kits? Or did they make changes, more specifically, did they make the kits larger in scale? I ask because I thought their kits were close to perfect except they were a hair small.

I did in fact have an issue with that same door, but I dry fit each piece, and determined what i needed to trim to resolve the issue. While doing that I accidentally sealed that door shut, which is not that big of a deal to me. Because i dry fit each piece, I knew before gluing that there was a minor issue to resolve.

The other buildings assembled perfectly. Since not everyone has experienced this particular issue, I suspect there was a problem with an early run of the kit.

I didn't bother contacting anyone about it. I just decided to have fun with the biuild no matter what. I believe that they are quite active in their forums, if you would like to try posting there.

Please let me know if there is anything else we can do to help!

I'm sorry to say I had similar but not quite so severe problems in the same location. I was able to shave off some of the siding to make it fit. That said the smaller buildings went together beautifully and I have to say that they are beautiful buildings once assembled.

The fact that the roof is easily removed may actually see miniatures fighting inside, a nice change from a 4"x5" piece of blocking terrain.
