Ranged attack stats

So, why do some unit cards have a stat for ranged attack but no weapon? for example the Ryu Yariman have a ranged dicepool of 2 but no ranged attack listed, so there's no range band for determining the Challenge number. How do these units perform their ranged attack?

Units do not have a ranged weapon on them if there is no stated ranged weapon on the unit card and hence cannot perform a ranged attack. However there is weapons on cards you can add to a unit card that can be accessible via themes and lists. The ranged stat is on the unit card if you for some reason equips a ranged weapon and thus can perform a ranged attack. Hope this make sense. Regards.

The Jung Pirates has if I am not mistaken access to a ranged weapon Hand Cannon card for example. I can recommend download the Bushido Companion App it is great. Have all the models, traits, cards etc. Hope this make sense. Regards.
