Bushido

Bushido is a fantasy tabletop miniatures skirmish game for two players, set in the fictional Jwar Isles.

Each player commands a warband of between 4 and 12 individuals, with the average human miniature being 32mm tall. These forces meet on 24 inch square battlefield and the players try to outwit, outfight and outlive the opposing force and fulfil their battle objectives while denying the enemy theirs.

A game of Bushido is fast-moving, flexible, and filled with strategizing, counter-strategizing and counter-counter-strategizing. Your tactical acumen is important, but as dice add an element of randomness, so too is your ability to think on your feet. A typical game of Bushido takes between one and two hours to play – more if you are new to the game, less if you are a seasoned veteran.

The Jwar Isles are inspired by the mythologies of East and South East Asia; most notably, but not limited to, Japan. In the Jwar Isles, a small prefecture to the far east of the Golden Empire, many factions fight for supremacy. Some are committed to maintaining the delicate balance of Ki - a force which permeates the universe - where others wish to upset and even destroy that balance in order to achieve their own nefarious goals.

Beneath the notice of the Imperial Court, the samurai families of the Takashi, Shiho, Minimoto, and Ito scheme and skirmish. Yurei gains power in its secret cult. The temple of Ro-Kan strive to maintain balance, a paradigm which the Kinshi temple seeks to unmake, whilst the Savage Wave wreaks destruction wherever it can. Amidst all this, the fallen Jung survive through piracy, the Shadow Wind clan strike from the shadows, and the Silvermoon Trade Syndicate finds profit in every exchange. The Tengu descend from their mountainous homes, and their exiled king awakens an ancient power.
