Kinshi Temple

"Time? Time is infinite. But the beings that swim through it are not, and when the power that moves those creatures fails to stir them, it disperses as solemnly as woodsmoke from an autumn fire. Yet, the tiny pieces of who or what we are are doomed to meet repeatedly, attract, and corrupt each other. The path you walk in this life will be your path in all lives. Your existence is doomed to an endless cycle of weary, soul-grinding repetition that must be destroyed! All pleasure, pain, every friend, foe, victory or defeat will be yours to encounter after every revolution around the eternal ring. Forever." - Master Shi

Playstyle

Kinshi Temple are a very specialised faction with a playstyle that is unique within the game. Rather than relying on Ki to use their abilities and improve their fighting skills, the monks of the Kinshi Temple utilise the slow but inevitable power of the Void.

This is represented by Void Counters with new abilities activated when a given number of Void Counters is reached. For example, Kinshi models can use their R1 Ki Feats when they have generated 4 Void Counters. Void Counters can be generated a number of ways and it can take two or three turns before their key abilities are activated.

However, their power grows exponentially, and during the mid to late game, their melee, ranged, movement and Ki statistics can reach some of the highest levels seen in any faction.

The other key element to Kinshi Temple are their Void Rifts. Once 2 Void Counters have been generated, the Kinshi Monks can move from one Rift to any other Rift on the board. This gives them unparalleled mobility and enables them to move the focus of the game in the blink of an eye.

Be mindful that very few of the Kinshi monks have access to re-rolls in melee or special defences. They also currently have a very limited number of models compared to other factions. However this arguably enables keen Kinshi players to hone their skills and learn to unleash the powers of the Void to overwhelm their opponents.
