Somabo, the Blue Crane
Somabo's wingless shame drove him from his homeland. Instead of learning from the mountains and its elders, he went on a warrior’s pilgrimage, letting the world be his teacher. Being careful not to taint himself with the flaws of humanity, he stayed on the fringes of society. When approached, he tested them with a riddle, letting only those who could give an honourable answer keep him company. If their answer was unworthy, he dashed away with a speed only the Kakyu are known for. Over time his riddles became harder and his travels lonelier. For years people failed his test. Until one day he met a cunning leader of a ragtag band of warriors. Hearing the riddle the man pondered over the question for days. On the third day he returned defeated. "I don't know the answer, but I want to find out." Somabo only answered "Neither do I, so let us find out together." It is said that he taught Hiroto the left-handed draw technique. The more they travelled together, the more he realized how much Hiroto and he had in common, so once Hiroto decided to return to the Jwar Isles, Somabo went with him. Home.
